A/P Staff Accountant Basic Functions This position is key in providing processing support as well as analytical support to the Accounts Payable Department.  Will maintain prepaid accounts; Balance/Review Wire Transfers; Prepare Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations; Develop/Key Invoices; Process checks runs and provide vendor relations.  Essential Functions   Weekly Tasks           Inspect vendor reporting to determine if a new vendor can be released from vendor hold before invoices are due for payment     Perform vendor maintenance and new vendor setup.       Audit cash requirements for weekly cash run-review vendor terms/due date and discount, pay location, invoice # and amount for accuracy.     Scan check support to enable electronic imaging.             Monthly tasks           Prepare balance sheet / account reconciliations for A/P Merchandise inventory clearing and prepaid purchases accounts for all business units.     Review activity, research discrepancies, perform corrections in Lawson and write Journal entries for corrections in General Ledger     Prepare accrual entries for all merchandise purchases in every stage of retail cycle, review accrual worksheets for duplication or error.        Process Add on cost invoices and upload DHL and Traffic systems invoices.             Skills needed           Knowledge of Lawson.       Min 1 year experience with A/P Merchandise   Min 2 years experience with account reconciliations Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel & Lawson. Operate in a JDA environment Organizational relationships   Reports to: A/P Supervisor Education   Degree in Accounting required
