ACCOUNTANT / PLANT ACCOUNTANT

Position Overview

Lawrenceville manufacturer of polystyrene food packaging has an opportunity for a dynamic Plant Accountant.  This is an exempt position that requires hands on work.

 



Position Responsibilities

 

§Accumulates and analyses information for the preparation of financial statements, tax statements and other reports.  Collects appropriate data and prepares state and local reports and tax returns.

 

§ Verifies accuracy of information and recommends corrections.

 

§Compiles/calculates analysis of plant performance trends and identifies decision areas.

 

§Analyzes financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize and interpret current and projected company financial position for other managers.

 

§Assists in guiding and assisting accounting staff and plant management.

 

§Provides backup for accounting clerks.

 

§Assists in plant budget preparation based on input provided by other department staff.

 

§Supervises accounting staff of four non-exempt employees.

 

Position Requirements

 

Possesses strong math aptitude, works accurately with numbers, good organization skills and ability to efficiently operate standard office equipment.  Strong analytical ability and thorough understanding of computer systems and accounting principles.

 

Manufacturing and cost accounting experience preferred.

 

Supervisory or managerial experience required.

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; or at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
