ASSISTANT CONTROLLER/NOVI SOUTHLYON AREA

We are a tier 1 automotive company currently in need of an assistant controller due to an internal promotion.  Our plant is doing roughly 200 million in annual sales with roughly 300 employees.The ideal candidate MUST HAVE-at least 6 years AUTOMOTIVE experience-would like strong ERP system AS400 based (hyperion, Edwards)-US GAAP-SOX complient/internal controlsThis position will support and lead efforts in ensuring consolidated world wide results are accurately reported, reviewed timely and analyzed.  Lead and assist in various entity controls processes, i.e. plant package review and analysis, monitoring out of period adjustments, issue resolution, etc.  Work scope will include reviewing and analyzing information from the divisions, compiling reports for senior management and coordination with the external auditors.  This position will support efforts to ensure overall data integrity and consistency for a company with greater than $3.8B sales and 80 locations.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  (Duties required for successful job performance):   1.  Lead and assist in corporate and entity level controls compliance.2.  Review, analyze and compile fluctuation or variance analysis. 3.  Monitor activity in high profile accounts at a corporate level. 4.  Ensure key accounts are reconciled globally, working with all locations to confirm compliance with policy and procedures.5.  Roll out new or revised policies globally, and work to assure compliance in the field. 6.  Ensure consolidated results are reported in compliance with US GAAP. 7.  Coordinate internal quarterly and annual reporting requirements with the external auditors. 8.  Lead and assist in Corporate SOX controls   REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or Experience    1.  Four-year college degree in Accounting or Finance required2.  Seven or more years experience required 3.  Experience with a large multi-national manufacturing company preferred. 4.  Strong analytical experience required, plant experience preferred 5.  CPA and/or advanced degree a plus 6.  Hyperion consolidate or JD Edwards software experience is a "high-plus"     Built on more than 30 years of expertise, The Mergis Group is a specialty recruiting firm committed to helping professionals make the best career choices.
