Assistant Controller

 

The Company has a terrific Board of Directors, Advisory Board and Management Team

 

As the Assistant Controller you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting data throughout the organization through hands-on involvement in the company's financial operations.

 

Responsibilities:

· Oversee and manage the operational functions as well as monitor financial systems & assess compliance GAAP to ensure integrity and propriety of accounting/financial data.

· Establish internal controls which ensure that proper segregation of duties exists and that all account reconciliations are performed timely and expenditures are properly approved.

· Oversee cash analysis and forecasting.

· Supervise staff of approximately 20 people while monitoring budget and headcount of the department.

· Manage the systems enhancement opportunities in all areas and build plans for process improvements.

· Assist in review of Actual to Budget results.

· Oversee the closing process and general ledger reconciliations of the accounts affected by the processing of these transactions.

· Assist in the audit process by the external auditors, which includes ensuring audit schedules are prepared and reviewed on a timely basis, and answering audit questions, including compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.

· Work with various areas within the organization to ensure expenses are properly recorded.

· Assist in special projects as needed and coordinate various ad hoc projects for domestic accounting.

· Hire all new accounts receivable and billing staff in Framingham,MA. and transition all activities from New York City.

 

Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and at least 8 - 10 years relevant professional experience.Ability to monitor complex transactional processing and willingness to get involved in the details early on to change process.Willingness to challenge employees and build relationships with three divisional business managers (financial officers), Human Resources, and Controller.  CPA designation is a plus.Ability to multitask and proven effective management skills.  Strong communication skills, particularly negotiation skills for use with internal personnel, clients, and regulatory and accounting personnel.Strong work flow skills as well as excellent computer skills (esp. in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
