AVP, Statutory Compliance

Our client is a premier Insurance company in Alpharetta, GA.  We are currently recruiting candidates to fill a need for an AVP of Statutory Compliance.

Responsibilities:

Responsibility for some aspects surrounding the statutory compliance, accounting, and reporting for the various independently licensed companies.  Other duties include:

 

· Assist in managing the planning, preparation, review and filing for all internally generated quarterly and annual statutory statements to state regulatory agencies.

· Assist in managing the planning, preparation, review and submission all information requested for the filing for all quarterly and annual statutory statements

· Assist in managing the planning, preparation, review and filing for all internally generated quarterly and annual supplemental packages required by regulatory authorities.

· Assist in managing the planning, preparation, review and filing for all required audited statutory financial statements.

· Assist in managing premium tax, state and statistical filings.

· Assist in managing the audits by regulatory authorities of statutory statements.

· Assist in directing and managing professional finance staff and participates in key project teams.

· Able to provide training and assistance on a full range of statutory finance issues to internal and external staff.

 

Qualifications:

 

· 6 or more years demonstrated in depth statutory finance experience.

· Extensive experience in preparing relatively complex statutory reporting packages.

· Distinguished as a statutory expert through a broad understanding of company business issues.

· Has functional and cross functional area project experience.

· BS in Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience.

· Advanced degree of CPA or MBA desired

· Applies creative thinking and imagination on increasingly complex statutory accounting issues and develops viable alternatives.

· Exhibits strong understanding of business strategies and their relationship to statutory accounting and reporting, and develops strong ties to upper management.

· Effectively and comfortably interacts with upper management.

· Maintains effective working relationships within and outside Finance

· Excellent communication skills.
