Account Claims Coordinator, Collections Representative

JOB SUMMARY:

Reports to Director of Deductions and Program Administration and is responsible for deduction reconciliation of Key Accounts as identified by Director.  The ability to handle multiple issues in the reconciliation process is essential.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·  Research, identify and clear all account deductions and validate those which are legitimate from those that are not

·  Processes credit (AR’s) for valid deductions

·  Responsible for the collection and/or establishing of customer repayment commitments for invalid deductions

·  Some complaint entry is required for deductions relating to short shipments, damages, etc.

·  Must be able to act as a liaison between: Customers Sales Departments, Cash Applications, and Customer Care Department

·  Develop and maintain spreadsheets, Sales Program folders for specific accounts

·  Must have excellent follow-up skills to get the job done.

 

EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

·  Three years or more of account collection and/or cash application experience is required

·  National Retail/Wholesale or Manufacturing account reconciliation required

·  College Degree in Accounting/Management preferred

·  Proficient with MS office; intermediate to excellent experience in EXCEL is absolutely required.

·  Strong interpersonal skills are essential

·  Sales Program experience and knowledge a plus

 

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS:

Position reports to Administrative Manager.  Daily contact with Customer Service, Sales and Accounts Receivable.  External contact with customers and outside sales brokers.
