Source Medical is currently seeking an Accountant for its Corporate Office in Birmingham:


Summary of Position:

This position will be responsible for performing activities such as maintenance of the general ledger and preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports. The candidate should have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field. The candidate will manage the accounts receivable functions within the organization's established policies, and may also be asked to produce regular or special reports as needed by the Controller.

The candidate may also be asked to suggest improvements in processes to increase effectiveness of the department. The candidate will analyze, investigate, and correct accounting entries as needed. In addition, the candidate must have strong customer service skills as they will be in a position to communicate with clients frequently on a daily basis.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Analyze, verify and enter transactions into Great Plains Software.

2. Perform accounting functions and preparation of reports detailing financial results (specifically for the AR department).

3. Establish and maintain accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations.

4. Manage the AR function within the organization's established policies.

5. Arrange and oversee completion of all collection tasks.


Education / Qualifications:

* BS in relevant field or equivalent education & experience.

* Minimum 2 years of Billing or Accounts Receivable experience.
