Accountant

To contribute to the department’s overall effectiveness with regard to financial statement integrity, increasing the real profitability of the Company by providing value added financial analysis, internal customer satisfaction (Branch Managers and Upper Management) and the ongoing continuous improvement of departmental processes.

It is a position in which the individual will learn the Company’s accounting systems and business strategies, and apply analytical review and procedures to effectively measure and monitor performance and consistency with internal controls and processes. The position necessitates continuous interaction with all functional departments within the Company to provide value-added reports and reconciliations.

Essential Duties:

Provide value added financial analysis and assist in the development of performance metrics with regard to all aspects of the Real Estate portfolio:
• Research, investigate and resolve accounting related issues.
• Prepare Real Estate ad hoc reports on an as needed basis in support of the overall goals of the Company.
• Develop routines and customized reports from the fixed assets subsidiary ledgers.

Perform the month end close process:
• Prepare Construction in Process, Building Rent Expense and Sublease Income reconciliations and roll forwards.
• Perform profit and loss analytical reviews and assemble the monthly Real Estate reporting package.
• Perform month-end systematic closing functions; allocation of Internal Rents, Deferred Rent, Close store analysis, Capital Lease Analysis, reconciliation of Security Deposit Account& Prepaid Rent Accounts and 3rd party rent analysis.
• Calculate& prepare general ledger entries. Provide groups within the Company monthly analysis and reports.

Provide insightful recommendations with regard to enhancing current policies and procedures.
• Assist in the continual improvement of departmental procedures and workflow.

Management Reporting:
Assist with the preparation of requested management information and analysis.

Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or finance preferred.

• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience.
• Strong analytical skills, work ethic, an understanding of GAAP and control procedures.
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft suite applications, especially Excel.
• Must be able to manage, manipulate, and reconcile large amounts of data.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to work independently and with in group environments.
• Must be able to manage multiple projects and duties.
