Works with corporate, businesses and other Accounting Center functions to seek out opportunities for improvement in revenue growth and internal control in addition to developing recommendations and solutions to work processes. Lead associates within the team to meet business objectives. The Accountant I assumes the highest level of responsibility and accountability to the manager as well as fills in and performs duties of the manager in his/her absence. Uses technical/functional knowledge (e.g., GAAP) to strategically work with manager and business partners to meet objectives and keep Sears' best interest in mind.QualificationsCandidates will possess an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance. (CPA Preferred)Research Skills: Understand & Interpret relevant lease clausesCandidate will have varied duties including: Monthly review of new, renewed, and terminated leases for accounting implications.Monthly review of covenants, percentage rents, and accounting for capital leases.Monthly forecasting of lease related expenses.Monthly account reconciliation.Monthly, Quarterly, & Annual Financial ReportingSears is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
