ACCOUNTANT

 

Performs computerized double-entry bookkeeping tasks requiring basic knowledge of the principles and practices of fund accounting in order to properly record and maintain precise fiscal records and financial data; applies fundamental bookkeeping knowledge and skills to varied bookkeeping tasks such as posting, checking entries, issuing checks, balancing accounts, and preparing financial reports for assigned accounts; prepares and maintains financial records in an accurate, complete, and timely manner while ensuring the integrity, security and accountability of financial accounts.

 

SR. ACCOUNTANT

 

Plans, assigns, supervises, monitors and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable, accounts payable accounts and general data entry functions; ensures all assigned accounts are maintained in compliance with department standards and established deadlines.  Plans and coordinates various financial projects such as annual budget preparation, month-end closing reports, and fiscal audits.  Performs general cost and fund accounting activities including day-to-day budget; prepares special reports as requested by the department head or management; prepares financial reports, statements, and ledgers; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same.
