Accountant, Sr - consolidations experience required

We are seeking a senior level degreed accountant with extensive experience in financial reporting, consolidations, SEC reporting, and presenting financial results to management.  Representative activities include: providing authoritative counsel on proper accounting principles & practices; coordinating, conducting and documenting financial analysis projects; and preparation of consolidated financial statements and related disclosure information. 

 

This position reports to the CFO of Travis County government, a $500 million organization with approximately 5,000 employees.  We offer a stable work environment with no routine overnight travel, casual dress attire, individual offices, quality computer equipment, professional development, 11 paid holidays & accrue up to 3 weeks vacation per year, flexible start of the work day, and job rotation.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Accounting;  at least 6 years of experience in consolidations and preparation of comprehensive annual reports for a large organization; CPA desired.  To be successful in the job the candidate must possess excellent analytical, communication, computer, time management, and problem solving skills.  Additional characteristics are team player, self-starter, quick learner, ability to plan/coordinate multiple projects, meet deadlines, and a person most comfortable with GAAP, GAGAS, risk assessment, etc.  Salary commensurate with experience.
