Accounting/Financial Controller

 

The ideal candidate for this position will provide supervision and will oversee the day to day property accounting operation for all properties.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Review monthly financial packages;Provide guidance/training to staff on technical accounting subjects (i.e., acquisitions, market rent adjustments);Manage property audit process;Assist with property budget reviews and upload/input into MRI/Yardi;Miscellaneous business/investments related projects;Fund Accounting - manage income expenses and cash flow of fund; record entries and fund related transactions;Coordinate tax reporting requirements/tax implications of the fund(s) with Tax Group;Provide upper management with fund month-end analysis, including variances to budget;Fund activities reporting requirements;Responsible for preparing fund(s) budgets;Participate in process improvements projects and company initiatives;Various special projects as assigned.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

 Minimum of 7+ years relevant or real estate industry experience;Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business or Finance; CPA;MRI/Yardi systems knowledge;Fund accounting experience;Excellent communication skills both oral and written Great customer service skills to handle any issues in a friendly and courteous manner. Strong attention to detail, organization skills a must Ability to read, understand and interpret leases and other critical documents Must be computer literate, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Must be a self starter with a high level of initiative Excellent interpersonal skills to work with other department staff, tenants, and property managers
