Chenega CorporationJob Description Job Title: Accounting ManagerDepartment: AccountingReports To: ControllerFLSA Status: ExemptPrepared Date: February 7, 2006Summary To assist with all accounting related activities to ensure the accurate and timely distribution of financial management reports including monthly financial statements, project status reports, and annual audits accounting records. Generally handles the more complex accounting issues for the GL StaffEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Responsible for all aspects of general ledger accounting, including monthly journal entries, monthly reconciliations of subsidiary ledgers, monthly bank reconciliations, monthly accruals and reversals, fixed asset accounting, and monthly revenue recognition and analysis. Publish monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial statements and other management reports as needed. Generate and reconcile monthly Statement of Indirect Expenses. Also, may be required to assist in billings, accounts receivable, accounts payable and money management functions.Work with Controller/Assistant Controller on year-end financial audits.Work with Controller/CFO to establish and maintain systems and internal controls which verify the integrity of all systems, process and data. Act as liaison between Accounting Department, project offices, and/or subsidiaries. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to six related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
