Job Description Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller SJAMN-33964 Expanding accounting staff of a soon-to-be-public high-tech manufacturer is looking for a strong team player who can assist the Corporate Controller with technical accounting matters and manage people. This addition to the team will take over numerous responsibilities currently performed by the Controller and must be ready to jump in with both sleeves rolled up.Responsibilities • Manage and maintain the GL including AP, FA, PR • Supervise day-to-day GL activity, including the posting of transactions, assistance in coding expenses, reconciliations and other activities • Drive the monthly close process • Supervise inter-company consolidations • Prepare monthly sales and use tax returns • Prepare annual property tax return • Backup for payroll • Calculate sales commissions • Prepare, maintain and review accounting reports and reconciliations • Prepare and review schedules for annual audits, quarterly reviews and tax returns • Manage accounting staff including Accounts Payable, Payroll and General Accountants • Mentor accounting staff and help them grow in their careers; develop a plan for cross training • Partner with operations to establish and maintain appropriate internal controls over the procurement and disbursement cycle and identify improvements to the accounts payable process • Drive improvements in accounting policies and processes • Assist in the development and maintenance of internal controls throughout the accounting department with an eye toward Sarbanes Oxley compliance in the future • Complete other tasks assigned by the Corporate Controller, serve as backup to Corp Controller as neededQualifications • BS/BA in Business or Accounting required • 7-10 years experience in Accounting/Finance • Prior management experience required • Experience in a fast-paced environment • CPA preferredSkills • Microsoft Great Plains experience a big plus • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Advanced Excel skills • Excellent organization and prioritization skills • SOX compliance experience a plus • Detail orientation with overall business understanding and perspective All Interested and Qualified Candidates Click Here to Submit Your Resume for Immediate Consideration.
