Company Profile:  Growing (250-300+MM), privately held corporation with locations in multiple states.  Position is in downtown Chicago.

 

Position Overview:  The Accounting Manager – General Ledger manages the corporation’s general ledger and financial reporting.

 

Responsibilities:

 Manages all aspects of the general ledger systemAssists the controller to ensure the integrity of information entered into the general ledgerManages general ledger close; balance sheet review and reconciliation processPerforms financial statement review and analysisProvides accurate monthly financial reportingEnsures the financial integrity of the inventory systemCollaborates with the controller in creating and monitoring annual and monthly budgets Acts as liaison between operations and corporate to ensure that goals and agendas are alignedManages vendor relationshipsAssists with loan compliancePrepares miscellaneous tax returns and corporate filingsManages the external audit processRecommends and implements improvements to finance-related corporate policiesAssists in reengineering all financial control processesMaintains desk procedures for the accounting departmentManages one staff memberOther duties as necessary, e.g., generating ad hoc reports

 Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree in AccountingCPA3+ years of public accounting experience OR 5+ years of industry accounting experienceAdvanced working proficiency of Microsoft Office SuiteJD Edwards (JDE) experience a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsDetail-oriented and analytical with strong organizational and problem solving skills
