Accounting Manager – Growing Company – Loop Location

 

Company Profile:  Growing leader in the healthcare communications industry.  Privately held.  Location:  Chicago-Loop.

 

Position Overview:  The Accounting Manager is responsible for day-to-day management of the company’s accounting function.  The individual in this position will perform the monthly financial closing process and provide reporting and analysis to the VP of Finance and other members of the Management Team.  The Accounting Manager will assist the VP of Finance with planning, e.g., budget and analyses, as required.

 

Responsibilities:

 Manages the organization’s accounting functions on a daily basis, which includes maintaining the organization’s accounting principles, practices and procedures
 Compiles and performs the internal and external financial reporting
 Performs the financial planning and analysis
 Manages the cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing functions
Performs elements of payroll
 Adheres to the organization’s accounting policies and procedures
 Reviews existing processes, improves processes; establishes new processes

 Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or BusinessCPA a plus5+ years experience required -- Public accounting experience a plus Demonstrated knowledge of GAAPDemonstrated track record of success in finance and accounting, including financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting skillsFamiliarity with accounting software (Sage MAS500 a plus)Strong planning, organizational and PC skillsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsMust have the desire to develop skills to match the growth of the companyMust be willing to take initiative, be results-oriented as well as flexible and adaptiveAbility to exercise managerial courage in a collegial and professional manner
