Accounting Manager - Weekly Reader Production Group
Reader’s Digest Association (RDA) is a preeminent global publisher and direct marketer of a growing line of multi-media products that inform, entertain and inspire millions of people around the world. We publish 77 magazines, including 50 in-country editions of our flagship, Reader's Digest, and 27 other special interest magazines.

Currently we are looking for an Accounting Manager who is a critical member of the North American Accounting Resource Center’s (ARC) management team. This person will be responsible for overseeing the accounting activities of Weekly Reader Product Group (WRPG), a subsidiary of the Reader’s Digest. In addition, this position functions as the key accounting liaison with WRPG’s Finance team. Some responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the implementation, integration and/or streamlining of business processes and/or system changes. In addition, this position assists in developing internal control remediation plans, when needed.
Specific Responsibilities:Continued integration of the WRPG accounting team into the ARC Streamline processes, identify non-value-added activities and eliminate them Full responsibility for monthly closing processes, financial statements and variance analysis ensuring financial statements are in compliance with corporate policies and US GAAP Analyzes results and performance; present findings to management Prepares financial reports for management Leads, motivates and oversees an accounting staff responsible for monthly close process and financial statements Ownership of Sarbanes-Oxley documentation, testing and review, as necessary Review, recommendation and implementation of policies and procedures Ad-hoc projects, as required by the business unit Staff development and training Travel, as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred. Minimum 6 years experience, including supervisory experience CPA certification, preferred Thorough knowledge of an ERP system such as Oracle or SAP and/or ESSBASE a plus Excellent leadership, analytical, communications (oral and written) and managerial skills Self-motivated, innovative and able to lead change
