Accounting and Audit Director/CPA
This position is located from one of several offices located around the Camp Hill, PA area with a salary of $100,000 -$115,000 or more depending on experience with strong benefits, bonus, etc.
Firm prefers degree with CPA and experience overseeing strong functions in accounting/comptroller operations and auditing. Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
1. Review of accounting engagements as directed by the shareholders or on an annual basis (technical review).
a. Create a checklist for reviewing various engagements to be used by other reviewers.
2. Research oversight and primary researcher of difficult A&A topics.
a. Develop a process for either disseminating results of A&A research or making it available for future use by others, avoiding duplication of research process on similar situations
3. A&A Training and CPE for the staff
a. Review and evaluate current program for:
i. New Staff
ii. Specialization (Employee Benefit Plans, etc)
iii. Accounting staff in general
b. Work with HR Director on the changes, if needed, for the above programs
c. Coordinate A&A CPE with HR Director.
d. Responsible for periodic staff updates relating to new pronouncements (FASB’s, SAS’s, etc) and developments
4. Chair of the A&A Committee
a. Determine if the committee structure is appropriate and/or working properly – also look at Construction and Pension Committee structures.
b. If the committee continues, determine the most effective use of the committee and the responsibilities of the committee as well as the structure (who should be on it, how frequent they meet, etc.)
c. Work with the PPC group as well as other groups in the firm when needed.
d. Oversee the firm’s audit and attest services and compliance with the firm’s quality control document.
e. Review of A&A engagement process and help refine the best practice approach.
f. Continual monitoring and enforcement of engagement process (re-engineering sessions, risk assessments, etc.)
g. Oversee the ordering of technical material used by all offices (hard copy and electronic format)
h. Evaluate various software packages as needed, either A&A related (PPC e*Tools, Risk Assessment guides, ARM, etc) or based on need to change process (Asset Keeper, Engagement, etc)
5. Coordinate and handle peer review process as required by AICPA standards
6. Assist in higher end audits conducted by the firm as directed by the shareholders.
7. Determine how to keep clients informed on new A&A pronouncements.
8. Review, as necessary, information for prospective clients and development of proposal information relating to potential A&A clients
