RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

We are seeking a senior-level Director for Business Line Financial Management to support our retail division. This position will report to the Chief Accounting Officer and have responsibility to ensure the Retail divisions’’ financial results are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAPP) and Sovereign’s internal accounting policies, and to provide financial analysis and accounting support to the business lines executive management team. This position will be the key liaison between finance and the business line and will work closely with the executive leader and his team for the retail division. This position will also assist the business lines and Corporate Accounting with the month end close process. Specific responsibilities may include: analysis of loan and deposit portfolio volumes, yields and trends, fee income, and expense variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, preparation and participation in business unit review meetings, product and customer profitability analysis, financial analysis and support. You will manage a team of other Financial Management Team Members. This position requires strong relationship management skills to provide financial analysis and support required for the senior leadership team.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred.

- Professional-level experience in a Big-4 Accounting firm which may have moved into a centralized financial management role in banking.

- Strong financial analysis, business analysis and transaction experience as well as understanding of GAAP.

- Strong financial analytical skills and knowledge of the financial services industry.

- Retail Banking Experience.

- Proven management experience, including providing leadership, direction and vision to a team of Financial Analysts.

- Demonstrated experience in working with business lines and disciplines to deliver financial management solutions.

- Strong relationship management skills.

- Must be self-directed, a team player, and possess excellent problem solving skills.

- Ability to produce and deliver quality presentations using Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Access skills desirable.
