Accounts Payable Associate

Bloomington, MN

 

This position will be responsible for processing all AP invoices related to SCBNA.  Perform a wide variety of accounting work in Account Payable for SCBNA.  Process all AP invoices in a timely and cost conscious manner.  Examine and verify data, distribute and code the proper G/L account.  Maintain established record keeping procedures in order to provide detail reporting for all financial transactions.  Reconcile vendor accounts and communicate same to vendors.  Assist in month end closing, and audits as required

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Accounts Payable Associate may participate in one or more of the following:

· Process incoming accounts payable mail.  Date stamp and accurately code invoices. 

· Check for pricing discrepancies and investigate discrepancies with SCBNA personnel or vendors.

· Review invoices for proper authorization, within the Company’s policy guidelines.

· Reconcile vendor accounts, trouble shoot problems.

· Monitor and follow-up with vendors/SCBNA personnel to make sure invoices are submitted in a timely manner.

· Support and assist Corporate AP as needed to rectify problems and other matters on an as needed basis.

· Work with Finance/Accounting at month end to ensure all expenses are accounted in the correct month.

· Compile various reports and special projects as requested.

 

Qualifications:

Education:  High School diploma or equivalent experience in the field of accounting.  Associates degree preferred

 

Years of Related Experience:  One or more years of work experience in accounting or accounts payable function.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: 

Proficient on 10 key adding machine, knowledge of Windows, Excel and Word. Attention to detail, accuracy and excellent number aptitude. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, proportions and percentages. Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally. The ability to maintain confidentiality.
