Accounts Payable Manager

This position provides leadership support for the Asst. Mgr. and staff. Initiates policies and procedures to insure the integrity of the accounts payable operations. Demonstrates strong ethical, professional and service - oriented leadership, and is a role model who effectively applies the tenets of the company's Code of Ethics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible for the overall supervision of the AP Dept.
Provides direct support for hiring, training, and overall staffing requirements.
Ensures that effective internal controls are initiated that assure safeguarding of assets.
Ensures compliance with corporate policies in addition to all local, state, federal regulatory requirements.
Demonstrates to staff strong ethical, professional, and service-oriented behavior and enforces the Company's Code of Ethics.
Develops a Vendor Management Program and partners on other issues that affect the AP ability to pay invoices in a timely manner.
Approves the AP process improvement initiatives.
Develops Key Performance Measurement standards for the Department.
Accountable for AP Goals and objectives
Serves on committees, which recommend and implement changes and/or improvements in internal controls, policies, procedures, information management systems, and overall process improvement recommendations


Supervisory Responsibilities

This job directly supervises (1) subordinate Assistant Manager and (9) Account Payable Coordinators. This Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
