Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist

 

A Respected company with great employees needs your expertise and energy.  This is a multi-function position in a small office environment in the Construction Industry located in the South County.  The position also involves answering the telephone and other office administration duties.

 

Accounts Payable

Full cycle Accounts Payable processing and maintenance:

Verify proper approval and adequate documentation supporting payable invoices

Maintain and update vendor information

Obtain, organize, and match purchase orders

Identify and resolve problems with purchase orders and invoices

Assure proper coding and accurate allocation of expenses

Match, code, balance and input credit card activity

Accurately input data into the Accounting software

File invoices and statements

 

Payroll

Full cycle Payroll processing and maintenance:

Secure daily payroll timesheets to reconcile hours in a construction job-cost environment

Update and maintain accurate employee records in the Payroll system

Calculate all payroll deductions including 401k, garnishments, and other deferrals

Input payroll data into the payroll system

Prepare timely and accurate weekly payroll runs

Reconcile the monthly, quarterly, and annual 401K deferrals and matching amounts

Work closely with supervisors to secure all required employee documentation

Order and organize all background checks and drug testing as required

File and photocopy any necessary documentation for complete payroll recordkeeping

Maintain orderly, complete, and up-to-date Personnel files

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

Must be 10 key by touch with superior data entry skills

Must be a problem solver who is accurate, detail oriented, and professional

Must be well organized and able to meet deadlines

Must be able to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks

Must be able to work well with others and secure conformance with Company rules

Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Ideal candidate will have experience with American Contractor Accounting software

Ideal candidate will be bi-lingual in English and Spanish, but this is not required
