Accounts Payable Specialist ($13-$15/hour)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for implementing the daily, weekly, and monthly Accounts Payable functions. Familiarity with a variety of the concepts, practices, and procedures in accounting. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Perform a variety of tasks. Typically reports to supervisor of unit/department.

 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReceives and organizes statements from vendorsAccount Payable and Purchase Order MatchingProcess invoices discrepanciesReturn authorizationsProcess check runs and review terms for check runsProcess credit invoicesMulti task on a daily basis, problem solving and balance reconciliations of all accounts payable accounts as assigned to Accounts Payable SpecialistPrepare and formulate Excel spreadsheetsBe able to keep up in a fast paced high volume environment to process 2,000 invoices monthlyCommunicate to vendors, internal department and other departments within the organizationHandle confidential files and accountsFlexible to handle constant changing environmentOther duties as assigned

 


QUALIFICATIONS 1-2 + years accounts payable (AP) experience in a distribution or manufacturing organization preferred

 
 
SKILLS & ABILITIES

Must be analytical and detailed, with a high sense of urgency to meet deadlines. Clear knowledge of coding GL Accounts. Ability to learn new systems.

 
Computer Skills

Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
