Accounts Receivable Clerk - Belmont Village

Accounts Receivable Clerk

Belmont Village owns and operates Upscale Senior Living Apartment Communities NATIONWIDE. Our Communities are designed for seniors who need some assistance with daily activities. We provide living space, meals, housekeeping services, recreational/social activities and personal support to our residents.

This position provides accounting and lease management support for the Corporate Office Accounting Department in Houston, TX. Primary responsibility is processing and collection of accounts receivable. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance and paid time off programs.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Lease management of resident billing accounts receivable, which includes:Setting up new resident accounts. Verifying initial billings . Importing and reviewing the SenSys occupancy activity and ancillary charge import files. Processing room transfers and terminations. Processing of resident refunds. Processing billing adjustments to resident accounts. Generating monthly invoices on resident accounts. Preparing timely and accurate rent rolls.Collection of resident accounts receivable, which includes:Handling resident inquiry calls and resolving disputes. Managing and monitoring past due resident accounts. Maintaining Accounts Receivable Aging / Bad Debt spreadsheet. Attending weekly collection calls. Handling all aspects of Electronic Funds Transfer for residents at assigned communities.Coordinate mailing of monthly resident statements with accounts receivable staff, third-party mailing house, and special requests. Maintain supplies for resident statements in stock at corporate and community locations. Input and post daily deposits relating to resident accounts and miscellaneous income. Front desk / telephone receptionist relief rotation. Assistance with audit requests as needed. Assistance with special projects as needed.
Other Responsibilities: Review processes and procedures to create further efficiencies. Participate in developing and implementing solutions. Effectively communicate with the Executive Directors, operations staff and management to ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts receivable. Work as a team member with the Accounting Department and assist on projects, as needed. Understand and adhere to all Belmont Village policies and procedures.
Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of accounts receivable, billing, collection or related experience. High accuracy and detail orientation. Proficient in keyboard and ten key by touch. Computer proficiency, including Windows 2000, Excel, Word. Timberline software, or similar construction / property management accounting software experience, is a plus. Strong organization skills and communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Strong problem resolution skills. Ability to perform duties in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
