Accounts Receivable Supervisor

Because of our exploding growth we are looking for an Accounts Receivable Supervisor.
The Accounts Receivable Supervisor oversees the daily activities of the accounts receivable (A/R) department to facilitate cash receipts through detailed accounts review, ongoing skills development and hands-on problem solving.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervises staff to ensure cash receipts are collected and applied in an accurate and timely manner by analyzing aging reports and related records.
Assists staff in daily activities by serving as liaison and coordinating with other departments, and resolving technical issues.
Researches and resolves account discrepancies by responding to inquiries, including incorrect billings, statements, and payment postings, and initiating corrective action.
Evaluates system and process performance, identifies issues and works closely with Information Systems for resolution to maintain system integrity of the accounts receivable database and A/R general ledger reports.
Works with Controller to identify and resolve issues by preparing and reporting the activities and progresses in the aging.
Maintains A/R staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Directs staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
Maintains a professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and/or Experience
Associate’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2 years related work experience in Workers’ Compensation or healthcare collections, or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus 1-3 years supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
Developed knowledge of standard accounting practices.
Team building skills; organizational and staff development skills.
Well-developed analytical and problem solving abilities.
High degree of initiative and independent judgment.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office applications (intermediate Excel)
Knowledge of budgeting and expense control.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Previous related supervisory experience within the organization.
