First American is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst reporting directly to the VP of Tax. We are building a dynamic and dedicated tax department. The successful candidate will have a strong tax background and will be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic and rapidly changing environment.Position ObjectivesAssist Managers, Directors and Outside Service Providers with federal, state and local compliance; quarterly, annual and pro-forma tax provisions; tax research and special projects. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist with quarterly and year-end income tax provision matters. Perform special tax projects, including tax research and preparation of written communication related thereto, preparation of tax position papers, and evaluation of the tax effects of proposed business strategies. Review federal, state and local tax returns for corporations, partnerships and LLCs. Prepare and/or review quarterly estimated tax payments and extension requests for corporations, partnerships and LLCs. Prepare and/or review various schedules for inclusion in the consolidated and pro-forma tax returns. Prepare and/or review responses to taxing authorities notices, inquiries and examinations. Prepare tax account reconciliations and analyses on recurring basis. Provide support to field personnel regarding tax issues.Qualifications• BS or BA in Accounting or Finance. • Must be a CPA or passed exam.• Minimum 3 years of tax experience gained in public accounting and/or private industry.• Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.• Highly organized and detail oriented.• Thirst for knowledge and desire for continued professional growth.
