Assistant Business Manager

 

The Carnegie Observatories (a part of the Carnegie Institution of Washington) is a non-profit, world-class astronomical institution, with its office located in Pasadena, California.

 

Fulltime position with the following primary responsibilities:Grants Administration:  Responsible for all aspects of grants management of private and government funds, including developing, training and implementing grants policies and procedures in compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines. Accounts Payable:  Supervise A/P. Human Resources:  Provide new hire forms, open enrollment information, assist employees with benefits questions. Provide assistance with immigration documentation needs.

This position is also responsible for various other duties and functions as assigned.

 

Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or course work in Business from an accredited university. CPA preferred but not required. Not-for-profit accounting a plus.Minimum of 5 years of accounting work experience. Experience in administering Federal and private grants.Work experience in Human Resources.Knowledge of OMB Circulars A-110, A-122, and A-133.Experience in working with independent auditors.Experience with purchasing, accounts payable, and vendor relations.
