Assistant Controller

Our client, a successful $1B manufacturing company headquartered in Cleveland, is looking to bring an Assistant Controller on to the staff of one of its Eastside subsidiaries.  This person will report directly to the Corporate Controller and will oversee a staff of four direct reports.  The Assistant Controller must have solid general accounting experience as well as stellar leadership skills.

The Assist Controller will be responsible for the following:Overseeing the timely and accurate completion of all daily and month end accounting, AP, AR, payroll and general ledger functionsManaging the month end close and financial reporting processesEnsuring compliance with all corporate and SOX policies and proceduresLeading a team of well-qualified, degreed accountants and analystsAdditional tasks and special projects as they arise

The Assistant Controller must possess the following minimum requirements in order to be considered:Bachelors degree in Accounting, coupled with an MBA and/or CPA6 - 9 years of progressive accounting experience gained in a manufacturing setting; public accounting experience is preferredAbility to successfully complete all month end accounting dutiesComplete understanding of SOX and GAAP requirementsAbility and desire to develop and monitor accounting staff, policies and procedures
