Assistant Controller

Description
A large privately held company is seeking a Corporate Assistant Controller for its accounting department. This is a great opportunity for somebody seeking to advance their career with an impressive leading company within the Apparel industry. Manage the day-to-day operation of the corporate accounting area including the supervision of 10 senior and staff level personnel.
Supervise Accounts Payable, Vendor Compliance and oversee Cost Accounting.
Ensure all account reconciliations are preformed in a timely manner.
Ensure accounting books and records for all corporate are maintained in accordance with US GAAP
Perform and analyze monthly results and compare to prior month, prior year & budget and communicating those results to management.
Assist controller with annual company audit
Coordinate annual audit for company benefits plan
Development of the departmental staff ensuring they reach their professional goals

RequirementsMust have 6 years of experience in accounting including strong supervisory experience
General Ledger Fundamentals – debits and credits
Chargeback process with regard to Vendor Compliance matters
Inventory and Cost Accounting experience
Fixed Assets and Depreciation
