Assistant Controller

COMPANY INFORMATION:
NorthStar Battery Company, LLC was formed in June 2000.  It is dedicated to the manufacture and marketing of industrial valve-recombinant, sealed lead-acid batteries.  It was formed by a small team of international battery engineers and has grown from these humble beginnings to an international corporation with sales in over 130 countries.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Assistant Controller directs the financial activities directly related to plant operations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares, using computer or calculator, or directs thepreparation of, reports which summarize and forecast operation activityand financial position in areas of expenses and earnings based on past,present and expected operations.Coordination of physical inventory functions.Some supervisory dutiesDirects preparation of budgets, month end financial reporting, and account reconciliation.Prepares, or directs preparation of, reports required by regulatory agencies.Provide operational financial reporting, financial and manufacturing cost analysis.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILTIES:
Performs other duties as required.





QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or certification in accounting preferred.A minimum of 5 years accounting experience, with 2 or more years of related manufacturing experience.Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.Previous experience with electronic storage and processing media associated with accounting and statistical record keeping.Fluent knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Visual acuity to interact with computer screen.Manual dexterity to manipulate computer key-board.Sufficient communication skills to converse via telephone and video conferencing.
