Assistant Finance Director
Brief Description of Duties
Provide direct supervision to Accounts Receivable, Resident Accounts, Payroll and Accounts Payable. Reconcile all accounts to General Ledger accounts, Bank Statements and run financial reports.
CHARACTERISTIC RESPONSIBILITIES
· Keep inform and abreast of all situations occurring in Accounts Payable, Payroll, Resident Accounts, and Accounts Receivable. Give directions to staff in the day-to-day operations of accounting functions.
· Assist in Payroll and Payable processing whenever is needed. Verify and reconcile all tax voucher and all other payables before checks are printed. Reconcile and prepare quarterly tax form and turn them in to the Director for review before the are due.
· Review and remain current on all rules and regulations of Medicaid, Medicare and third party payers. Report all changes to the finance Director in the monthly reports.
· Assist in the preparation of cost reports for reimbursements and annual audit by completing audit work papers and necessary reconciliation.
· Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation, to be approved by Financial Director before they are entered in the system, and run financial reports.
· Record and maintain a statistical database for cost reports and outside agencies i.e. laundry processed, dietary meals, Medicaid and Private Pay census, admission discharges and deaths.
· Review Accounts Receivable records for completeness and ensure that the facility is being reimbursed for its services in full. Ensure that all resident and/or Third Party payers are being properly billed for services. Review aging on the monthly basis and turn it in to director.
Minimum Qualification
· Bachelors Degree with a Major in Accounting.
· Three years experience
· Must be able to communicate effective with others, particularly the elderly and general public.
