Associate Financial Analyst

Analyze and report on Individual Business expenses on an actual versus budget, projection, and plan basis. Analysis will require a thorough knowledge of reporting systems, audit trails, and process flows, and will involve communication of information with designated contacts throughout the Individual organization, Finance Department, and Controllers organization. This position will support other unit members during peak periods and will require the ability to work independently on multiple projects using multiple PC applications. Major Duties and Functions Include: Maintain the data used to produce all Individual Business expense information, including the organizational hierarchy, budget transfers, product prorates, and system access. Assist with the analysis and reporting of staffing and actual expenses versus forecast and budget for the Individual Business Department. Assist with the Individual Business monthly projection process including forecast system user access and training, entering forecasts, and providing analysis. Assist in the annual budget process, including planning an annual budget/plan kickoff meeting, budget system user access and training, entering budgets, providing analysis, and overseeing ongoing budget transfers. Support the IB Management department by providing monthly budget versus actual expense analysis, resolving hierarchy and employee issues, assisting with monthly forecasts and the annual budget submission, and prorate development. Assist with the planning and implementation of expense training programs and communication sessions for expense contacts and Individual management. Training will cover process and system review, developments in expense reporting & analysis tools, and current expense issues. What You Need to Succeed: Background in accounting/finance required Ability to work independently on multiple projects, analyze problems, develop and implement solutions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to present information, processes, and proposals. Ability to establish a positive working relationship with other team members and a network of contacts across the organization Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Access. Knowledge of Khalix, Cognos, FARO, and PowerPoint desirable Recent college graduate or junior level experience in a public or private company environment desirable. Insurance industry experience a plus. Demonstrated analytical, interpersonal, communications, prioritization & time management skills.
