The Associate Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of small and medium sized projects, under direction from the Project Manager Team Leader. Associate Project Managers assist with the coordination, planning, and execution of projects according to deadlines. This includes coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The position will work with the Project Manager Team Leader to assist in defining the project's objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle.

 

Responsibilities*:

• Works with the Project Manager Team Leader to coordinate all phases of project from envisioning through deployment for small to medium-sized projects (such as systems enhancements)
• Assists in defining the project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain timelines and budgets for projects, including estimates vs actuals and resources, utilizing tools such as MS project and Project Server
• May work with Business Analysts to evaluate current business processes and requirements. Gains a technical knowledge of current technology systems
• Works with the Project Team Leader to identify, create and manage all documentation necessary to support and improve business processes, including project vision and scoping documents
• Coordinates all departments related to the project which may include Business Analysis, Infrastructure, Development, QA, Release, management, Information Security, Third Party Vendors and various Business Units.
• Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifies potential crises, evaluates severity and likelihood of issues, and proposes contingency and mitigation plans.
• Works with the Project Manager Team Leader to identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
• May assist Project Managers with various facets of larger projects.

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including internal clients and other departments.
• Working knowledge of MS Office
• Evidence of good analytical ability
