Fantastic growth opportunity for a Tax Accountant in Concord, CA. This billion dollar freight transportation company is looking for a tax accountant who will be responsible for tax compliance relating to IRS and state reporting requirements. Directs and coordinates all company tax matters; internal preparation of all federal, state, and local income, property, sales, and other miscellaneous tax returns; and estimated tax payments. Responsible for state qualifications and annual report filings.Responsibilities: Prepare quarterly income tax provision and related footnotes (FAS 109). Coordinates all IRS and state income tax audit examinations. Coordinates complex multi-state and federal tax compliance process including but not limited to sales and use tax, property tax, and income tax.Qualifications: Bachelors degree in accounting or finance. An MBA or CPA is preferred. Public accounting and/or government auditing experience preferred. Three to five years of tax experience with a history of progressive growth and responsibility. Familiarity with tax software, including Fasttax, Best FAS (fixed assets) and RIA research.
