Billing & Collections Manager

Alutiiq is looking for a self-motivated professional to fill the Billing & Collections Manager role, overseeing the billing and collections processes for a $500 million company. This position will supervise the billing and collection teams in Chesapeake, VA and Anchorage, AK, ensuring timely and accurate invoice preparation, submittal and collection. This role will include: working with finance and operations personnel, solving issues that hamper timely and accurate billings and collections; interacting with operations and government personnel to collect on past due accounts; reporting on billing and collection metrics; using lessons learned from prior billing and collection issues to amend policies and procedures, ensuring procedures are designed to best achieve billing and collection goals; ensuring compliance with policies and procedures; and doing special projects and other financial duties necessary to meet the company’s goals.

The ideal candidate will have extensive federal contracting experience and a thorough knowledge of cash flow processes within the federal government and government contractor pay processes for Dept. of Defense, Dept. of State, Dept. of Homeland Security, etc. contracts. To be successful in this position, knowledge of internal controls, strong communication skills, the ability to supervise and mentor personal in multiple locations and the ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines are required. Experience with Excel is a must and experience with Deltek Costpoint is preferred. Six plus years accounting and/or billing and collection experience and a degree in accounting or related business field are required.
