Brighten Phoenix’s Future. Teach.



The Phoenix Teaching Fellows program (www.PhoenixTeachingFellows.org) is a highly selective, innovative path to becoming a teacher and making a difference in Phoenix’s public schools. We focus on recruiting talented individuals from diverse backgrounds who will use their knowledge, experience, and records of achievement to positively change the lives of students in Phoenix. No educational experience or coursework is necessary.

Benefits of Phoenix Teaching Fellows:

Fellows will have a full time position in one of Phoenix’s high-need classrooms with teacher’s salary and benefitsCustomized certification and master’s program, with an AmeriCorps Education Award that may be used towards certification courseworkFellows use content knowledge and life experiences in a meaningful career  Specialized summer training that includes a student teaching component, during which Fellows receive hands-on training and coaching on effective teaching strategies.  Fellows will also receive a transitional living stipendNetwork of talented, committed teachers working to make a greater difference with the students who have the greatest need.  Our program offers the opportunity for Fellows to forge connections with peers, faculty, staff, and district personnel. Qualifications:

- Minimum 2.75 undergraduate GPA

- Must have bachelor’s degree by June 2008

- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

- Must be able to pass a background investigation

- Must not be a certified teacher

Phoenix Teaching Fellows will teach math, science, and special education. In addition, a very limited number of language arts/reading positions may become available. For more information or to apply, please visit our website:
