Budget Director

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

1.  Ensuring that the school district derives maximum benefits from the prudent expenditure of all school dollars

 

2.  Develops budget guidelines, coordinates preparation of the budget, and assists key administrators in the review of the budget.

 

3.  Prepares analysis of budget requests and program proposals and develops improvements in the financial management of the school district, including budget methods and format, and presentation.

 

4.  Manages the Position Control System.

 

5.  Performs the budget and control function for all funds.

 

6.  Prepares the Temporary and Final Appropriation Statements and prepares the appropriations to be entered into the budget software.

 

7.  Monitors expenditures and modifies appropriations.

 

8.  Monitors all student activity funds

 

9.  Performance of other budgeting duties as may be assigned by the Treasurer.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

1.  BS Degree in Accounting or Finance required.  Masters Degree in Business Administration preferred.  A CPA is also preferred.

 

2.  A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in the areas of financial planning, analysis, and budgeting is required.  Previous experience with school finance is preferred.

 

3.  Experience with business process reengineering.

 

4.  Demonstrated Human Relations skills.

 

5.  Strong organization and analytical abilities.  Good oral and written communication skills.

 

6.  Strong working knowledge of all appropriate software applications.
