CERTIFIED PAYROLL MANAGER

The Payroll Manager will be responsible for directing all activities of the payroll staff, including developing and maintaining payroll procedures and processes and developing relationships with the large client base. This is a permanent position with salary between high $50s and mid $70s depending on experience, background and skill set. Responsibilities include: Managing three payroll specialists, including assisting with payroll processing Overseeing high volume payrolls within multiple states; Overseeing direct deposits and ACH debits Researching and resolving client issues and systems problems Auditing/reconciling payroll information Meeting with and training customers on on-line processing system Assisting controller, including payroll bookkeeping and multi-state payroll tax preparation Proactive analysis and report writing on payroll, time and attendance, PTO, etc. To succeed in this role you require the following: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance 4-6 years payroll experience, with tax and accounting knowledge, WITH at least 3 years supervisory experience Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is REQUIRED Proven team leader who has an ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously High motivation with willingness to work extended hours to meet deadlines Excellent HRIS, PC and Excel skills Strong customer service and communication skills Knowledge of HR Pyramid payroll system a huge plus We are looking for only local candidates with the CPP designation.  Please forward resume to Michelle Mendez mmendez@theplusgroup.com    keywords: HRIS, payroll, multiple states, HR Pyramid, taxes, audit, CPP Position Information Company: The Plus Group Location: IL 60173 Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Human Resources Relevant Work Experience: 5+ to 7 Years Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Contact Information Company: The Plus Group Email: Apply by Email Reference Code: 33151 DOE/DOD Contract Staffing   Visit us online at www.theplusgroup.com
