Our client has several locations worldwide including locations in Europe and All over South America.Job DescriptionResponsible for directing the Company’s Accounting functions. These functions include Financial Reporting, General Ledger, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Departments, as well as establishing and maintaining the organization’s accounting principles, practices, procedures and initiatives. This position will drive internal controls and help shape the financial policy for the company.  The position requires an energetic, hands-on individual who can embrace organizational change and work collaboratively with others. Mental toughness and ability to hold firmly to a position when warranted are required.  Department functions include, General Accounting and Financial Reporting, Accounts Receivable, Billing and Collections, Accounts Payable and Disbursement Controls, Cost Accounting, Asset Management and Cash Management. ·  Executes monthly financial statement close and analysis.·  Prepares financial reports and presents findings and recommendations to CEO and Executive Management.·  Implements new automated solutions for administrative systems to interface with general ledger.·  Identifies and implements automated solutions to increase efficiencies and add controls to the Financial Reporting, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.·  Establishes cost accounting methods to appropriately charge costs to the correct driver(s) to enhance management decision-making.·  Establishes and maintains internal accounting controls for the organization.·  Coordinates external audits.·  Acts as accounting liaison with other Company Departments to coordinate the implementation of new products.·  Responsible to manage, develop and direct staff in the Accounting Department.·  All other duties and assignments approved by CEO and President. Requirements ·  Minimum Bachelor Degree in Accounting with advanced degree preferred·  Certified Public Accountant required·  10 years of progressive accounting experience in Int’l Freight and/or Freight Forwarding service industry·  5 years experience reconciling Foreign Currency conversions primarily in countries in the European & South American markets.·  10 years Hands-on experience preparing Corporate Financial Statements and Consolidating Intercompany Financials  ·  Excellent verbal and written skills·  Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Access software and an automated general accounting system
