CFO Needed

Growing Akron not-for-profit seeks a CFO with at least ten years of experience in accounting and financial management.  Candidate should have a degree in business, administration, or a related field and have prior supervisory experience. A CPA is preferred and not-for-profit experience is a plus.

 

Job duties to include:

· Develop, implement and monitor cash management, cost analyses, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing and financial procedures

· Direct the timely preparation and distribution of monthly income statements, year-end financial statements and balance sheets for partner agencies.

· Develop and control systems for keeping financial records, reports and profit/loss statements, program evaluation and other management information systems

· Develop a detailed understanding of agency accounting software system

· Analyze financial condition and recommend action to control expenditures and identifies areas that need to be reorganized, down-sized or eliminated, as appropriate.

· Establish a departmental organizational structure, which will effectively and efficiently meet the needs of the organization.

· Oversee the hiring, training and supervision of the accounting staff positions.

· Coordinate and develop department operating budgets; develop annual agency budget; and develop and coordinate the timely submission of all budgets required by partner agencies.

· Supervise the annual agency audit and maintain a relationship with the outside auditors, including providing necessary information annually and as needed.

· Serves as liaison and presents agency financial reports to the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees and at any budget meeting with the various partner agencies.

· Review proposed contracts and programs, develop pro forma budgets to analyze the financial impact and establish realistic projections.

· Oversee and negotiate the purchase of property/casualty/health insurance for the agency and ensure that the agency has adequate levels of coverage.

· Comply with all fiscal reporting requirements by preparing and filing all required reports with particular regard to accuracy and timeliness.

· Recommends training to further the development of subordinate staff.

· Cash management forecasting.

· Maintain banking and legal relationships

· Due diligence for prospective collaborations, partners, and grants

· Financial strategy assessment and development.

· Oversee Endowment Fund cash management, asset allocation rebalancing and investment performance.
