CPA for American Hotel Developer Partners

 

 

 

Rapidly growing commercial development company is searching for a CPA in Sarasota, FL. to work with CEO and CFO to help develop infrastructure, protocol and strategic financial and tax planning.  CPA designation or Master of Tax required.  Position is full-time.   

Responsible for the daily operation of the accounting system and for maintaining, auditing, inspecting and reporting complex financial records, the right candidate will provide coordination of company’s financial planning, debt financing, and budget management functions. This individual will be responsible for a diverse range of accounting and finance activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Direct and coordinate company financial planning and budget management functions. Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of projects, divisions and departments. Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against budget. Direct and coordinate debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies. Contribute to the daily operations of the finance department. Manage the preparation of the official annual report of actual revenues, transfers, and expenses.

Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts. Prepare financial analysis for development budges and project investment decisions. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements. Work with corporate staff to develop five year and ten year business plans for the company.

Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.  Ensure company accounting procedures conform to generally accepted accounting principles.

Design, establish, and maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively accomplish the department’s goals and objectives. Drive and execute planning and policy-making initiatives. Direct financial audits and provide recommendations for procedural improvements.

This individual will be responsible for a diverse range of accounting and finance activities.

Qualifications:

Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.

Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

Bachelor’s degree required and current CPA Certificate, Master’s degree with a major in accounting or business preferred.

Must have at least 5 - 15 years of related experience in financial analysis and accounting with a background in Investment Management or complex financial instruments. Asset Management experience is a plus.

Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems. Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations. Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including generally accepted accounting principles.

Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and profitability analysis. Advanced PC skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Strong analytical and technical skills. Ability to interpret complex accounting literature. Knowledge of Sage software (MAS 90, MAS 200) a plus.
