Claims Analyst - Collections

NYK Logistics (Americas) is a $1 billion company with over 45 locations and 1500 employees throughout the Americas.  NLA [NYK Logistics (Americas)  is a wholly owned subsidiary of NYK Line, a $19.5 billion dollar Japanese owned international logistics and transportation services company,  with more than a 120 year history.  NLA provides 3rd Party Logistics services including warehousing, distribution, transportation (air, truck, and rail), and international logistics solutions as well as customs brokerage services. 

 

SUMMARY:

The Claims Analyst analyzes and reviews claims for accuracy, completeness and eligibility.  Prepares and maintains records. This Position is located in Jacksonville, FL.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Ø  Reviews and analyzes claim loss and expense

Ø  Acts as liaison between the carriers and customers to maintain loss expense exposure

Ø  Acts as liaison between corporate and field offices to facilitate the gathering of information that will facilitate proper response to claim losses and legal documents

Ø  Identifies exposures to the company and facilities senior-level management’s knowledge of pending claims and litigation that may have an adverse impact on corporate goals

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Education and Experience:  Associates’ Degree plus two or more years’ related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to present one’s self in a highly cooperative and professional manner with both internal and external customers and vendors.  Must have the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.

 

Computer Applications Skills:  Must have working knowledge of Windows operating system, be proficient in Microsoft software applications (Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook, etc.) and have strong keyboarding skills.

 

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide and calculate figures and amounts such as interest.

 

Reasoning Ability:   Ability to think things through and develop processes that contribute to enhanced organizational efficiency

Work Environment: This job is performed in a temperature controlled office environment.  The office is located on the second floor with stairway and elevator access.
