Coding and Documentation Auditor

 

Fairview Health Services is seeking a Coding and Documentation Auditor to be responsible for actively participating in the Billing Compliance Program. Responsibilities include:

 investigating, evaluating and applying judgment to potential problem coding areasresponding to questions regarding documentation and coding issuesparticipating in the claims review processproviding documentation and compliance educational sessions to physicians, coding staff and other ancillary care providersauditing and monitoring the quality of coding documentation and billing done throughout Fairview's eight care systems by conducting ongoing reviews and focused studies to ensure data integrity and proper MS-DRG/APC assignment assisting in the development of Corporate Compliance work plans by understanding Recovery audit contractor program (RAC), Conditions of Participation (CoP), HPMP, OIG work plan and other potential revenue recovery or loss opportunitiesreporting potential findings to Corporate Compliance Coding Manager

 

Qualified candidates will have Vocational/Technical Training or Associates Degree, CPC/CPC-H, CCS/CCS-P, RHIT and five years of active inpatient DRG and ICD-9-CM/CPT coding experience. A Bachelor's Degree, RHIA, and 10+ years of active experience in ICD-9-CM/CPT coding are preferred.
