Collections ManagerSouthern Orange CountySalary: 60-80k Additional Responsibilities: Own and improve upon the existing collections process to improve cash flow. Monitor mail, bank and PayPal account on a daily basis and apply cash receipts. Prepare and distribute weekly projection of cash receipts and write up on 'troubled' accounts. Develop strong working relationships with customers. Work to understand the customer's payables process and identify appropriate individuals in their organization who can assist in expediting payment. Work proactively to identify and resolve potential payment problems before they arise. Contact customers by telephone and/or written (email) correspondence. Develop and follow a collection call process. Prompt follow-up with customer on promises to pay. Maintain the Collection log with up-to-date, clear and concise comments. Prepare, obtain approval and process debit and credit memos. Prepare and mail Accounts Receivable invoices. Prepare and mail customer statements on a monthly basis and as requested by customers. Prepare monthly Accounts Receivable Aging report and reconcile to the General Ledger as part of the monthly close process. Prepare and distribute Accounts Receivable Aging reports for specific management groups on a weekly basis or as requested. Provide management reporting to highlight collection issues and track receivables progress: Weekly Billing Summary, Credits Processed Report, Problem Account Summary / Collection Status Report. Work with the Sales, Customer Support and Finance departments to resolve customer issues, correct billing errors and initiate appropriate action on delinquent accounts. Work with Corporate Controller to determine appropriate Accounts Receivable reserve. Maintain organized collection related files. Perform wire and ACH transfers to vendors. Provide assistance during the company's annual financial audit. Adhoc request for various projects. Qualifications: College degree in Accounting or related field preferred. Five plus years experience in Accounts Receivable and collections, desired. High level of initiative and desire to meet accounts receivable collection initiatives. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organization and analytical and investigative skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Prior experience reading and interpreting credit bureau reports and assigning credit is a plus. Proficient use of software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
