Commercial Real Estate Accounting Manager

Our Dallas office is seeking a LOCAL Dallas area candidate interested in joining a growing, multifaceted company in the following position within its commercial property management division:

• Prepare and/or review journal entries, analyze tenant leases, review payables and application of cash receipts, and other general accounting duties.
• Preparation of monthly financial reporting packages. This position will be responsible for accumulating the information and preparing the schedules required in the package. Reports include P&L variance analysis, rent rolls, lease, A/R Aging, reports, and other system generated reports.  Also included are schedules relating to balance sheet activity such as operating and capital expense accruals, prepaids and escrow amortization.  This position is responsible for providing cash/debt/equity information to asset managers, maintain banking covenants, and other ad hoc reporting as needed.
• This position will play a key role in the preparation of the annual operating budget and the annual audits.
• Ability to manage accounting staff and establish accounting procedures.
• Coordination with the Property Management team. This position will serve as a key link between the accounting department and the property management department. Duties will include monthly review of property management reports with property staff, coordination of the annual budget process, updates on capital projects, and utilization of accounting theory with special projects as they arise.  Must possess understanding of CAM transactions.
• Ability to think logically and solve problems.
• Ability to apply knowledge of various reporting bases:  GAAP, tax, cash when reviewing transactions.

Requirements:
5 years experience in real estate/property management accounting.
1 year supervisory experience.
Bachelor degree in Accounting.
