Position Description 

Reporting to the Internal Auditor located in Amherst, NY and the Manager, Special Projects located in Boucherville, QC, Canada.  The Compliance Analyst is responsible for the compliance of Uni-Select USA to the Canadian Market Authority regulations which includes updating and validating the documentation of internal controls for key business processes.

 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Update and validate the documentation of internal controls for some key business processes.  This documentation is kept on paper and uploaded to a database

· Elaborate process flowcharts

· Participate in the development of required tests of transactions to validate the effectiveness (in place) of internal controls

· Perform transaction testing at various locations and the Corporate Office – USA

· Evaluate the type of deficiencies (material or significant) identified during the documentation and testing process

· Obtain from management, plans of action to remedy to the internal control deficiencies

· Prepare reports on the results of the work performed

· Implement the continuous testing process

 

Job Requirements

 

CPA preferred, must possess 2-3 years in auditing mainly with a large CPA firm.  

Successful candidates will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration and a minimum of three years’ experience or the equivalent education and work experience. This position requires knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting and Auditing Principles, Cost Accounting Standards, Federal Regulations and the Distribution environment. Candidates must be a self motivator, who sets and achieves high standards.  Must be detail oriented and work effectively independently or as a member of a team.  Above average customer service, communication and organizational skills, data entry and analytical skills required.We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, including 401(k).  Candidate must also demonstrate proficiency with Excel and Word.
