Growing commercial construction company in West County seeks a seasoned accounting professional to manage all aspects of accounting.  This leading construction company is locally owned and is looking for top notch controller.   The company is looking for an individual with at least 8+ years accounting experience along with direct supervisory experience.

 

This position coordinates a full range of financial and managerial accounting along with financial systems expertise.  We are seeking a solid background in accounting (financial statement preparation/consolidation, general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, job cost, cash management and analysis).  In addition, this individual will supervise an accounting staff of 5 and assist in overall business decisions and operations.

 RESPONSIBILITIES 

  Position reports directly to the President. Manage the day to day accounting responsibilities of the Company.  Manage the functions of the General Ledger, A/P, A/R, Invoicing, and Cash Flow. Work with the Executive Management Team to guide the Company, assess risk, and develop a financially strong Company.   Provide proactive, strategic and forward thinking input concerning financial information and business risk assessment to the President. Develop and maintain a team atmosphere in the Accounting Department. Responsibility for financial operations and reporting, including working capital, cash flow, taxes, debt level, accounting and budgeting. Develop the proper level of expertise and training in the Accounting Department staff.  Manage outside lending relationships on a day to day basis to ensure adequate resources are always available to the company. Ensure financial reporting and accounting practices fall within acceptable GAAP practices.

 

Qualifications:        BS Accounting and Finance – CPA/MBA preferred Minimum 8 years accounting experience Construction industry experience as a controller Strong systems experience Solid Supervisory experience Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
