Controller

Reporting to the CFO/COO of the company,  you will work in a challenging, fast paced, technology-driven environment in the dynamic Internet marketplace. The specific work will include responsibility for all aspects of the accounting function, including payroll, AP, AR, monthly close process and creation of the controls environment at the company.Responsibilities· Develop and lead the monthly and quarterly close process for the company· Develop processes for all operational accounting activities: AP, AR, payroll, banking, journal entries, accruals, bank reconciliations· Supervision of existing booking staff (1.5 fte’s today) and assess needs for future growth· Preparation and distribution of all financial statements: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Free Cash flow· Variance analysis of actual for month-over-month, quarter-over-quarter and year over year· Conduct DSO and AR aging analysis· Establish policy and procedures for expense reporting, travel, procurement, fixed assets and depreciation, approval thresholds and governance, · Complete 2006 audit with E&Y and prepare for and complete the 2007 audit· Work with external tax accountants· Vendor management for credit card processor, payroll and other outsourced providers of financial services· Assess 401K program and current vendor and help make recommendations for improvement and/or change· Contribute to analysis of equity based compensation programs· Optimize purchasing and procurement programs to drive cost efficiency· Help support analsyis of headcount, compensation and payroll/benefits costs· Participate in the review and eventual implementation of improved finance information architecture, applications and General ledger Skills/Qualifications: Bachelors Degree CPA earned, preferably Big Four firm 5-7 years of additional post-public accounting experience in an accounting function, preferably in an internet environment Knowledge of Quick Books strongly desired Superb, demonstrated excel skills Experience as a stakeholder or subject matter expert with systems implementation preferable; perspective on tools and applications that the company should implement will be necessary in this job Experience with external/regulatory filings a plus Self-starter who is resourceful in figuring things out, process improvement oriented, thinks out of the box See Job Description
