Controller / Accounting & Administration Manager
PJ Food Service, a subsidiary of Papa John’s International, is currently seeking an Accounting Team Leader at our production and distribution center in Phoenix / Gilbert, AZ.
The Accounting Team Leader manages all aspects of the Accounting and Human Resources administrative responsibilities within the facility. Position reports to Facility Quality Control Center Manager.
- Manage all accounting functions within the Phoenix Quality Control Center including but not limited to those related to inventory, accounts payable, purchasing, billing, and petty cash ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles. Prepare P&L’s, journal entries, account reconciliations and analysis as required.
- Assist center management with budget preparation and financial reporting and in maintaining, communicating and adhering to center goals and standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Manage human resources for the center, including, benefits, payroll, and training, and new hire orientation.
- Manage and develops office team, conducts timely performance reviews, manages performance issues and follows all company policies and federal, state, and local laws and ordinances regarding employment.
- Serve as liaison between Quality Control Center and corporate headquarters.
- Adhere to all Papa John’s International and PJ Food Service policies as stated in company manuals, training manuals or other written communications.
We are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years management experience in a warehouse/distribution environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelors degree in accounting preferred
- Minimum two (2) years accounting experience required
- Minimum five (5) years progressive management experience required
- Working knowledge of general HR practices, including benefits and payroll required
- Experience with financial systems/ software preferred
- Working knowledge of PeopleSoft preferred
- Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) application
- Inventory management system knowledge and application
- Ability to develop and execute budgetary items for department
- Create/implement development/mentoring program for department team members
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and writing (English), bi-lingual a plus
- Ability to develop and implement internal Key Performance Indicators
- Strong knowledge of accounting and human resource operations and ability to positively impact overall performance.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced dynamic work environment
- Continuous improvement methodology experience TQM, Six Sigma, Lean Mfg, Preferred
- Demonstrated strength in the following competencies: Drive for results, customer focused, analytical thinking, team leadership, executive maturity, creative thinking, and continuous improvement
