Controller - Senior Leadership

AP Labs, Inc. is seeking a controller to join our senior management team.

Responsible for all accounting activities including cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit and collection, payroll and financial reporting, including budget, financial forecasting, risk management, statistical reports, audits, tax activities, banking and managing the administrative department staff. 

 

Will manage department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all Company activities that will assist management, the board of directors, and other users in making educated economic decisions about the Company’s future. There is no relocation package available with this position.Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Ø  Responsible for preparing timely and accurate financial statements for executive management, the board of directors and the bank.

 

Ø  Responsible for managing the Company cash accounts and monitoring bank lines in accordance with Company and bank requirements.

 

Ø  Responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Company and recommending and enforcing Company policies such as capital expenditure, travel and entertainment and ITAR and export policies.

 

Ø  Responsible for profit maximization through expense reductions and cost controls, insuring proper bidding and proposals and project cost management.

 

Ø  Responsible for proper government reporting and the government property management system.

 

Ø  Responsible for year end audit and seeing that it is completed in a timely manner and within the established budget.

 

Ø  Responsible for the Company tax planning and preparation of various tax returns and reporting.

 

Ø  Responsible for the budgeting and forecasting process to assist management in the direction of the business.

 

Ø  Responsible for performing the closing process, from preparing journal entries through producing consolidated financial statements. 

 

Ø  Supports Company audits by outside agencies.

 

Ø  This position plays an integral role in the reporting of the Company’s financial position and assists management in the long range planning of the Company.

 

Ø  Responsible for the Company’s Information System and related staff to provide management with accurate and timely information while safeguarding the Company data.

 Organizational Relationships:

This is a highly visible position, which interacts with members of management and external organizations such as the Company’s CPA firm, government agencies and financial institutions.Experience / Education Requirements:

Ø  BA/BS in Accounting or Finance; MBA/CPA preferable

Ø  8-10 years management experience

Ø  Minimum 3-5 years experience as a controller in a government-contract environment

Ø  Exceptional planning and communication skills, required

Ø  Government contracts and ITAR experience a plus
